Christmas Day

What a lovely start to Christmas Day - even if it was early. Symi was up and ready to open presents at 5am. We managed to delay this til 6. Santa had drunk his whiskey and the reindeers left evidence of carrot eating.

Symi had lots of fun opening presents and everyone was very inventive at getting travel friendly ones.

After a quick test of Symi's new bike in the street (yes we are taking 3 bikes to the USA) it was off to the beach with more of the family. Mum and Dad, Kirstie and her two - Lachlan and Laura.

Ready for the Beach - note the red Santa bathers!

So what takes you home from the beach on a glorious day - BBQ breakfast with Bacon in this case. Pete and Rob once again cooked a fantastic breakfast. After eating and a bit of present swapping it was time to count up the money in Granny and Grandpa's big fat cow. Result - three happy grandchildren with spending money for the summer holidays.Back to Kirstie's later today for a swim followed by ham, turkey and lots of other delicious food.

Merry Christmas to all.

Increasing the frequency of Blogging

Well as you can see blogging is not taking up much time. The last time I posted anything was in March when I attended the blogging course.

One of the advantages of not blogging too frequently is that you can report good progress between blogs. We have now rented the house, built the shed, finished the lighting and got our visas for the states (skirting boards still pending). We also have tickets booked to Sydney and then on to LA. We have once again started spending time on our iPads looking at potential RVs. We like the look of the Fleetwood Tioga 26Q as it has lots of storage room underneath which will be good for our bikes.

The other news is that Fiona has finished work (paid at any rate) and Symi only has 2 more days of school to go. Writing that does make me realise we have to be out of the house in 5 weeks time.

Not sure when I will next blog but hopefully there will not be another 9 month gap.
